Once a year our trainees are front and centre. This is when SGBD Deutschland GmbH announces the "Trainee Day". The two-day agenda holds company-training news, seminars and workshops. The highlight is the meeting our executives where trainees have an opportunity to talk to experienced staff members. As in all previous years the trainees have organized parts of the programme in 2008. They have presented projects planned and executed on their own. We would like to present a few samples.

PROFESSIONAL AND SOCIAL COMITTMENTS

Everything we do in our company is a team effort. Our trainees have made their own experience of this while preparing the Trainee Days. Our trainees have selected and executed 41 team projects. This has involved many tasks. Once a suitable project has been selected our trainees have found sponsors and material. The project's actual execution would then follow and was carried by personal contributions as well. These projects have been a total success as is demonstrated by the meticulously prepared presentations showing initial situation, progress and completion of these projects.

Social initiatives took the lion's share of projects. In the last years the projects would deal with booths for dry construction, roofing or thermal insulation. This year 20 projects were executed for the benefit of public facilities. The trainees have obviously been concerned about streetwork.

Andrea Ruppert, Head of Vocational Training at SGBD, applauded the combination of professional and social commitment and thanked all training offers assisting trainee teams wherever needed. We concur fully: Congratulations to all trainees and their mentors for the applause well earned. We are proud to present those projects that have won the best-presentation awards.
